I love to build things that make peoples’ lives more productive, fun, and interesting.
I’m currently the Associate Product Manager for Gmail’s AI team and was previously an APM intern on the Google Podcasts team. My work at Google has been featured at Google I/O and in publications like The Verge and The Washington Post.
Prior to working at Google, I was reading/coding/drinking coffee as an undergrad at Stanford where I studied computer science, specializing in artificial intelligence.
While at Stanford, I served as a research assistant for the Stanford GSB’s Venture Capital Initiative and as a section leader for CS 106A.
I’m also the founder of iDentifi. iDentifi is an app that uses computer vision to help visually impaired users identify objects — giving them a greater level of independence in their daily lives. iDentifi has users in 100+ countries; has been covered in the press; and was in a Google video about Canadian AI leaders alongside Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau and father of deep learning, Geoffrey Hinton.
Alongside my work on iDentifi, I helped create Diabetes ID, an app for diabetic teenagers; build a model to detect fake news about Covid-19; and evaluate how generative models (like GPT-2) can amplify polarization when generating text about politics.
I grew up in Toronto, Canada and currently live in San Fransisco, CA — if you want to talk about hockey, web3, or anything in between, please feel free to reach out at anmol.tukrel@stanford.edu!
